Gracie Carver

My Name is Gracie. I am 18 years old from Moncks Corner, SC. I am homeschooled and going into my senior year of high school.  I first got involved with archery after my sister Ava joined a team. It looked fun and I needed a P.E. credit, so I figured Why not?! It ended up being more difficult than I thought because I am deaf/hearing impaired. I wear bilateral hearing aids, and I realized very quickly that I could not hear the whistle or the electronic beeping sounds that are
most commonly used in archery. My coaches and parents came up with a system where I shot next to my sisters, and she alerted me to the sounds and so I was able to shoot safely and continue on the team. I stopped shooting NASP in October 2024 and started shooting Compound Fixed Pins in November 2024. I shoot a Bowtech Carbon Rose compound bow with fixed pins. I would like to continue shooting archery on a college team and I have already started on a college team and I have already started visiting colleges with archery teams. Some of my archery accomplishments are many SC S3DA regional and state tournament podiums, including 2 nd place SC indoor state and 3 rd place SC State outdoor. My biggest   accomplishment was finishing 3 rd at the Easton Youth in Lancaster. Thank you so much for the opportunity to represent Zulu Archery & Outdoors.
