Maria Sampson

My name is Maria Sampson. I am from Louisville, KY. I was born in Guatemala but adopted when I was 8 months old and have been in America ever since with my amazing parents. I am currently in my senior year at Lindsey Wilson University. I am majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and planning to get my MBA as well.

 

I fell in love with archery when I was in the second grade. I saw the older kids at my grade school practicing in the gym one day, and I waited until I was old enough to join the team. When I was in 4th grade, I was finally old enough to join, and I began shooting NASP. I shot NASP for 9 years and picked up a barebow when I was a senior in high school. Archery has taught me so many lessons that I use every day outside of the range, such as confidence, discipline, and the value of hard work.

 

Outside of archery, I love spending time with my friends and family. I love going on hikes and walks with my friends.
